My Favourite Engagement Spots in Brisbane

What’s not to love about Brisbane - the warm weather, the relaxed atmosphere and the best beaches just around the corner.

There are plenty of hidden gems in Brisbane and I love that I never run out of new spots to fall in love with. So, if you are new to Brisbane or are just looking for some inspiration on where to pop the question, here are a few of my favourite spots!

Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens

If you love your florals and want a location less than 10kms from Brisbane City, the Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens is the perfect spot for you! The Japanese garden is just adorable, there is even a little arch that makes the perfect spot for photos. If florals aren’t your vibe or if you’re a sucker for sunset and sunrise photos, take a trip to the Mt Cootha summit for a 180-degree view of Brisbane City. Just a heads up - this spot gets super busy in the evenings so if you want a more intimate proposal - I recommend going just before the sun rises.

Brisbane Powerhouse

Brisbane Powerhouse is a popular spot for weddings and engagements alike and it’s not surprising why. The repurposed tram power station features plays, concerts and other shows. There is a restaurant by the river and a park just a few steps away, perfect for a picnic to celebrate with family and friends.

Brisbane City Botanic Gardens

Another one of my favourite botanic gardens is the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens. This one is in the heart of Brisbane City adjacent to QUT, which makes it a cute spot if you just happened to meet your partner whilst studying there. Regardless, the fact that it is is located right near the Old Government House and the Queensland Parliament buildings makes it a good spot for variety in your engagement photos.

Wynumm Beach

Okay, so this one is technically not in Brisbane, but if you drive 20km East of the city you will arrive at Wynumm beach - a beautiful spot for a beach proposal. I love how this is just a half hour drive from the city, which if you chuck on a good playlist is not that long at all. Some of my favourite beaches though are on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, but I will save that for another post.

Roma Street Parklands

Last but not least, Roma Street Parklands is at the top of one of my favourite engagement spots in Brisbane. The expansive gardens feature contemporary display gardens, waterways and an amphitheater. It’s a perfect blend of beautiful city views and a modern garden.

I hope this helps you find the perfect spot for your engagement! These are just a few of my favourites and there are still so many more spots that I love in and around Brisbane that I would love to share in a later post.

Feel free to drop me a message if you’re in Brisbane and looking for engagement photos, I’m always down to help.
